The Economist MeetUp: The World Ahead annual event has quickly established itself as a first platform for shaping future economic, business and technological trends in North Macedonia and the region. The event serves as a meeting point for thought leaders, policymakers, and industry pioneers, while also marking the official promotion of The Economist’s – The World Ahead  annual publication in Macedonian language.

With an ambitious vision to bring global-level discussions in Skopje, this event is where the future takes shape through insightful panel discussions, exclusive interviews and high-level networking.

Challenge

Branding & Co-Branding Standards

  • The event required full branding while maintaining alignment with The Economist’s prestigious identity and strict co-branding guidelines.

  • The first edition The Economist MeetUp: The World Ahead 2024 was organized in just three weeks in 2023, an incredibly short timeline for such a large event.
  • The second edition The Economist MeetUp: The World Ahead 2025 organized in December 2024 surpassed all our expectations, proving to be not just a conference, but an arena of ideas that inspire, open new horizons and create concrete opportunities, leaving everyone amazed by its success.
  • Despite the challenges, the events successfully attracted regional speakers, establishing itself as a major conference in Skopje.

    Building a Strong Event Identity

  • Developed clear branding standards for both digital and print media.
  • Designed logos, visuals, and event layouts that aligned with The Economist’s global identity, to ensure strong brand recognition.

  • Improving the Event Experience

  • Created all necessary event materials, including accreditations, media walls, tote bags, and a digital wall.
  • Developed a dedicated website and an e-store, ensuring easy access to event materials and registrations.

  • Scaling Up for 2025

    With lessons learned from the first edition, the 2025 event was built on a solid foundation, allowing for greater anticipation and media buzz.

    1. The Economist World Ahead became the leading platform for discussing future economic trends.
    2. Record-Breaking First Edition: Organized in just two weeks, successfully attracting regional experts and positioning itself as a major regional conference.
    3. Months of preparation resulted in an event that was widely discussed in the media and recognized as a must-attend economic forum in the region.
    4. The conference hosted regional figures, government representatives and UK-based consultants, further elevating its credibility and impact.
    5. Demand was so high that, on the day before the event, seats were completely booked, with additional space being requested.
    6. Interviews, panel discussions and networking opportunities created a space for valuable conversations and connections.
